On October 31, the School of Information and Communication convened a meeting in Xiushan Hall to convey the NKU's work directives and carry out faculty ideological, political, and professional ethics and conduct education. All members of the leadership group and the entire faculty and staff attended.

Dean Li Yuelin elaborated on the five priority tasks and implementation pathways outlined in the NKU's plan for developing the New Liberal Arts. She emphasized that the establishment of the School of Information and Communication is a significant initiative for NKU to advance its pilot program of New Liberal Arts and cultivate talent for national strategic communication. The School carries the important mission of serving as a pilot to promote broader implementation of the plan. It will strive to leverage the complementary advantages of information and communication, foster a more competitive disciplinary ecosystem, and establish a model for New Liberal Arts development with exemplary significance. She called on all faculty and staff to work together through bold experiments and take the lead in pursuing high-quality development, joining forces to contribute to the NKU growth.

Ma Changhong, Secretary of the CPC Committee, delivered a thematic report titled The Great Nankai Masters I Have Known, focusing on faculty ideological, political, and professional ethics and conduct education. Drawing on the examples of NKU's distinguished educators - such as Chen Xingshen, who devoted his life to mathematics in China and at Nankai; Ye Jiaying, known for the virtue embodied in her gentle strength; and Li Zhengming, renowned for his selfless dedication - she recounted their deep patriotism, noble integrity, and unwavering commitment to enlightening minds, nurturing hearts, diligent learning, steadfast practice, and excellence in teaching and scholarship. Ma encouraged faculty members to transform the uniquely Chinese spirit of these great educators into conscious thought and action, striving to become great Nankai masters.

To persistently implement and study the central leadership's eight-point decision on improving work conduct and strengthen professional ethics and conduct, all faculty and staff also watched the film Anti-Corruption for the People during the meeting.
