On October 22, the 2025 Regional Publishing Foreign Trade Seminar was held in Tianjin. Leaders attending the Seminar included Wu Shulin, President of the Publishers Association of China (former Deputy Director of the General Administration of Press and Publication); Zhang Ningning, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee; Chen Wei, Chairman of CITIC Press Group; and Ban Feng, President of Tianjin Publishing and Media Group. The event brought together more than 70 leaders from 25 provincial and municipal publishing foreign trade companies and several publishing houses.
Professor Qi Dexiang, Executive Vice Dean of the NKU Publishing Research Institute, is the sole academic expert invited to deliver a thematic lecture titled Challenges and Strategies for China's Publishing Foreign Trade in the New Context. He noted that China's publishing industry is entering a stage of coordinated development between domestic and international cycles, taking on a new mission to enhance the quality of international communication, and moving toward deeper integration in international publishing communication. Publishing companies should prioritize three areas: content development and brand building, technological empowerment and integrated development, and international cooperation and channel expansion. Meanwhile, publishing foreign trade enterprises should deepen cooperation with publishing companies, drive digital transformation, strengthen international partnerships, explore diversified development paths, and leverage supportive national policies.

The seminar was held under the guidance of the Publishers Association of China, hosted by the International Cooperation Publishing Committee of the Publishers Association of China, and organized by Tianjin Publishing Trade Co., Ltd.
