Go! Go! On the afternoon of October 12, waves of cheers echoed across the sports ground of NKU's Balitai Campus. As the men's young faculty 4×100m relay came to a close, the School of Journalism and Communication's faculty team secured third place in Group C, winning the team bronze medal at the Shengfan Cup 2025 NKU Faculty Sports Meet. The team also received the Excellent Organization Award, fully demonstrating their outstanding teamwork and athletic ability.

During this sports meet, a total of 63 faculty members from the School participated in 18 events, including long jump, shot put, relay, tug-of-war, and rope skipping. Participants covered young, middle-aged, and senior staff, delivering strong performances across multiple events, with significant improvements over previous years in some competitions. Notably, Zhou Peiyuan stood out by winning both the standing long jump and triple jump in the men's youth category, earning the title of double champion in individual events.

Compared with previous years, the School achieved breakthroughs in both participation and performance in team events. The School took part in all major collective competitions, including tug-of-war, group rope skipping, the party-administration-union-women relay, the 4×100m mixed relay, the men's youth 4×100m relay, and Tongxin Juli (a team obstacle event). Each competition served as a testing ground for team spirit, with every squad demonstrating unity, determination, and impressive strength.

In the tug-of-war, 15 faculty members gripped the rope tightly, giving their all under the coach's shouts and the supporters' cheers. The red marker at the center quivered in the stalemate, but the School's team ultimately prevailed in the first round with unwavering perseverance, winning a strong start for the School in the overall standings. In the party–administration–union–women 4×50m relay, Secretary Ma Changhong, Vice Dean Chen Peng, Mr. Zhou Peiyuan, and Mr. Wang Shan displayed excellent coordination and determination, finishing first in their group. The men's youth 4×100m relay team, competing for the first time, also delivered an impressive performance. Formed by Mr. Kong Xiangyu, Mr. Zhou Peiyuan, Mr. Qiao Renming, and Mr. Tian Yizhou, the speed team claimed third place in their group. The Tongxin Juli event required participants to navigate obstacles on inflatable equipment, demanding both speed and balance. Despite falling multiple times during practice, Ms. Shi Xiaoxi refused to slow her pace, saying, One more practice makes me a little faster.

Embodying perseverance, Mr. Qiao Renming got back on his feet immediately after a fall and continued competing, while Mr. Xu Zhijiang endured a torn fingernail during the tug-of-war but persisted to the end. Their actions reflected NKU's resilient sportsmanship and perfectly captured the School's slogan: SJC, unstoppable force; surpass ourselves and create new glory!

The School's labor union carefully prepared for the event, with student volunteers and union committee members working closely to provide enthusiastic and thoughtful support for the faculty athletes. All members of the leadership group of the School were present and took part in several competitions, creating a one-family atmosphere both on and off the field.

In the coming days, the School will hold a post-event review of the sports meet and organize autumn fitness activities, continuing to carry forward NKU's sports spirit.
