In celebration of World Book and Copyright Day, the First Faculty Party Branch and the Party Branch of the Master's Program for the Class of 2023 in the School of Journalism and Communication recently co-organized a Party Day event titled Reading Flourishes, Youth Shines in Room 215 of Xiushan Hall. The event invited representatives of this year's winning teams of the Taofen Cup to share their preparation experience and insights, further enhancing students' professional competence and practical ability.
At the session, Tian Yushu, an undergraduate of Class of 2022 and a member of the third-prize-winning team, introduced their entry, Time Adventurer: My Archaeological Notebook. The project, centered on the innovative theme of tech-enabled archaeology, integrates RPG and AR technologies to provide young readers with an immersive science learning experience. By combining 3D modeling and AI, readers can scan patterns to activate animations and interactive games. The printed book features a hardcover design that faithfully replicates historical artifacts, accompanied by a mini-program with user accounts, point rankings, and social features to engage readers in learning.

Members of the second-prize-winning team shared their preparation process for Prodigy Explores Herbs: A Parent-Child Interactive Science Game Book from three perspectives: project presentation, design process, and on-site defense and written test. Cao Yixuanzi, a master's student of the Class of 2023, noted that the idea was inspired by the Implementation Plan for the Major Project of Revitalization and Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the low awareness of TCM culture among young people. After extensive market research and analysis, the team leveraged each member's professional expertise and repeatedly refined their design to create an AI-assisted illustrated game book that is both entertaining and educational. The book is designed to promote the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese herbal medicine culture.

During the communication session, students actively asked questions and engaged in in-depth discussions on the book's production methods, innovative ideas, and competition preparation strategies. The award-winning team members responded thoughtfully and shared their learning methods and insights, creating a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere.

By integrating Party building with academic expertise, students not only experienced the charm of book creation but also acquired practical skills and a deep understanding of teamwork. Looking ahead, students of the School of Journalism and Communication, guided by Party building, will continue to forge ahead, grounded in professional expertise and driven by innovation, while immersed in a rich culture of reading.
